MEET YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER
Hey, I’m Paul (That’s me at my wedding). I am based in a small town called Hamilton which is just outside of Glasgow & not too far from Edinburgh. When I’m not engrossed in the world of wedding photography, you will find me spending time with my family, going walks with my wife & our wee dog Bella.
I am often asked why I chose to venture into photography and the answer is none other than our very own wedding photographer, Derek. Before my wife & I were married, we had the opportunity to have a pre-wedding shoot. For two people who aren’t used to being in front of the camera and certainly not models by any means. With a background in mechanical engineering, I was intrigued to know how he was capturing the images. I became immersed in the world of photography. Passionate about gaining knowledge and understanding of how to capture the best images, I purchased my first DSLR camera. I initially focused on Landscape & Street photography, but I needed a bigger challenge. The opportunity came knocking when Derek invited me to be a second shooter with him at a wedding. He taught me more than any magazine or video ever could. After that first wedding, I caught the bug for wedding photography. Derek continued to invite me along to more weddings and I took every opportunity to expand my knowledge and photography skills. My passion continued to grow too and soon I upgraded all my camera equipment and felt confident to capture couple’s special days as an independent wedding photographer.
My style of photography is as beautiful, natural & intimate, capturing portrait pictures with your loved ones is important, but it is the candid pictures that tell the story of the day. Capturing the natural beauty of joyful tears on your loved one's faces, seeing you for the first time as you walk down the aisle and their cheer as you kiss and say ‘I do’, are all precious moments that can be seen over and over again in your wedding album.
Your wedding photographer has a huge part to play on the day itself. Your day goes by so quickly that there will be moments you can only remember from the photographs. These photographs will be precious memories to look back on for years to come. There is a whole range of wedding photographers available at any one time, each with their own style. It is important you take your time when researching, to ensure you find a photographer who's style reflects what you are looking for from your photographs. Having been married for several years, I can honestly say we still love our wedding photos.
